• Ooloogan (c. 1840–1928), Wiradyuri walamira (clever man) and travelling showman, also known as George John Noble and Marvellous, was born at Muttama, central western New South Wales, in around 1840 by Laurie Bamblett and Wendy Bunn.
• Nangar (c. 1848–1927), Wiradjuri walamira (clever man), also known as Jimmy Clements, was born around 1848 near the foot of Gaanha Bulla (Mount Canobolas), an important bornung (initiation) place by Laurie Bamblett.
• Nebinyan (c. 1840–1911), whaler, songman, and cultural informant, eldest son of Minang (Mirnang/Mineng) Nyungar (Noongar) parents Burduwun and Nungilan, was born in the early 1840s at Kattaburnap (Oyster Harbour) near Albany, Western Australia by Clint Bracknell.
• Paul Arthur Behrendt (1939–2006), radio operator, oral historian, and academic, was born on 31 October 1939 at Lithgow, New South Wales, eighth of nine children of Henry Behrendt (1903–1979), a journalist from England, and Lavinia Boney/Dawson (c. 1903–1942), a Eualarayi (Yuwaalaraay) woman whose totem, an echidna, or biggibilla, was also Paul’s.
