Description

PURPOSE of the visit:
The travel will be a research scoping and networking visit with New Zealand academics and professionals to explore concepts, practices, policies and processes that impact and regulate conduct in professions such as Teaching. The intent is to know about the topic from Māori perspectives and voices.
As a Northern Institute Early Career Researcher, I would like to know about inclusive practice and cultural responsiveness in New Zealand, and the practical application of the Treaty of Waitangi in educational training and accountability. The knowledge gained through research could be used to compare current Australian and New Zealand practices, finding areas of potential improvement for Australian education and improved educational outcomes for First Nations peoples.
