My research background is varied but has mainly focussed on landscape and wildlife ecology in tropical savanna rangelands, with side tracks into desert ecosystems, temperate forests, and the Mallee. My work has included species and community ecology, threatened species (e.g., night parrot, black-throated finch, striped legless lizard, golden sun moth, eastern quoll), threatening processes (i.e., fire, feral animals and plants and climate change), monitoring methods and condition metrics, and conservation planning and management. This has included research on invertebrates and vegetation. I have a range of work experience from large consultancies (i.e., GHD), NGOs (Bush Heritage, Tasmanian Land Conservancy) and government (e.g., Queensland, Victoria, and CSIRO). I am currently Direct of Ecosystem Management with the Flora and Fauna Division at DEPWS, based at the CSIRO complex, Berrimah and I am working on a program reviewing monitoring and reporting for NT Parks. I am a key researcher with the NESP Resilient Landscapes Hub, and partner investigator for an ARC Linkage Project - Experimental translocations to understand and combat eastern quoll declines.
