Research interests

Benaya worked as an elasmobranch conservationist in Indonesia, strengthening policy, applied science and conservation implementation. Her works focused on fisheries management, marine protected areas, and a community-level socio-economic approach regarding shark and ray conservation. She graduated with BSc from Diponegoro University and MSc from IPB university. Prior to her PhD, Benaya studying the rarest ray species in Indonesia primary supervised by Dr.Peter Kyne
