Research interests
Beverley Babbage is an HDR student with a background in education. Bev had a career as a Secondary Music teacher before becoming an education consultant and Apple Professional Learning Specialist. Bev has been working with remote Indigenous communities in Northeast Arnhem Land and the east Kimberley region, providing professional learning in using iPads to support Indigenous students and teachers, focusing on language and culture activities. Working with these communities, Bev has become passionate about Indigenous languages and how technology can support language learning. The higher research project plans to investigate the use of iPads with Yolŋu educators and students in Northeast Arnhem Land looking back and reflecting on the 5 years of an iPad project to investigate the effectiveness of iPads.
Bev has a Bachelor of Arts (Music) degree and a Graduate Diploma of Education from the University of New England.
