Bogdan Zieba is a PhD candidate by research at Charles Darwin University (CDU) in Darwin. He currently serves as an adult educator at
Nungalinya College, Darwin. His previous teaching experience includes roles in Papua New Guinea and two remote Indigenous
communities: Wadeye (Northern Territory) and Kalumburu (Western Australia). He holds two master’s degrees: a Master of Biblical
Theology (1998, Poland) and a Master by Research in the History of Education (2022, CDU). Bogdan’s scholarly focus encompasses
decolonising methodologies and Indigenous knowledge systems, with a particular emphasis on reconciliation through learning. His
research employs archival inquiry and participatory action research to explore the philosophical and spiritual dimensions of education.
Through a case study, he investigates the historical educational methodologies employed at Nungalinya College and their impact on its
stakeholders. His work examines how "Bothways" learning approaches can foster meaningful cooperation between Indigenous and non-
Indigenous Australians.
