A/Prof Cameron Hurst ranks in the top 2% of world scientists and has published over 170 papers (H-index: 32, Citations: 2996) that span the entire spectrum of health sciences, from biomedical studies through to clinical and community-based health studies.
He has been an academic biostatistican for over 20 years where he supervised over 35 PhD students through to completion, and developed and/or taught into mathematics, (bio)statistical and research methods subjects ranging from introductory at one end, to advanced and specialist methodological subjects at the other. He also a highly experienced biostatistical consultant having had methodological input into both the design of, and analysis of data arising from, thousands of clinical and community-based studies.
He has been the director of a clinical epidemiology and biostatistics unit at a large university’s teaching hospital. A/Prof Hurst has particular interest in both chronic disease and reproductive epidemiology in resource-limited health-care settings, and for at-risk or vulnerable populations, and in the development of mental health and other psychometric and clinimetric scales in these populations.
