Research interests

Prof. Fairfield holds the Power and Water Corporation Chair in Sustainable Engineering in the College of Engineering, IT, and Environment specialising in Civil Engineering. He is interested in water and geotechnical engineering. More specifically, his work examines asset management, hydrological modelling, data analytics, and environmental applications of engineering. Prof. Fairfield holds BEng (Hons, 1st Class) and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering from The University of Edinburgh and is the author of over 100 publications with his research team, and industrial colleagues.
