Personal profile

Research interests

I am a Lecturer and Researcher in Nutrition and Dietetics, based in the Faculty of Health at Charles Darwin University.

My research focuses on understanding the complex relationship between dietary patterns and chronic disease, particularly how diet influences musculoskeletal health outcomes such as osteoporosis, sarcopenia, and frailty.

I have a strong interest in the role of diet-related inflammation in the development of age-related decline, and in how tools such as the Dietary Inflammatory Index can be used to explore these associations. I am also passionate about translating research into practice by informing dietary guidelines and community-based interventions that support healthy eating across the lifespan.

My work spans dietary and physique assessment methods, nutrient profiling, and population health approaches, with an emphasis on improving health outcomes in older adults. I have experience in longitudinal cohort studies and a range of quantitative analytic techniques, and I welcome opportunities for interdisciplinary research and collaboration.

I am committed to supporting evidence-based practice in Nutrition and Dietetics, and to mentoring student researchers as we work to improve nutrition-related outcomes for individuals and communities.
