Demeke Mesfin Belay is a Paediatrics and Child Health Nursing assistant professor with confirmed clinical and research experience. He has worked as a clinical expert in Ethiopia districts for over two years. From 2014 to 2016, he worked as a graduate assistant II and assistant lecturer at Debre Tabor University, Ethiopia. After completing his master’s degree at the University of Gondar in 2019, Demeke joined Debre Tabor University Department of Paediatrics and Child Health Nursing department as a lecturer, was promoted to the rank of assistant professor, and led Paediatrics and Child Health units for more than two years. During his stay in the department, he taught and actively participated in developing teaching materials and curriculums. Demeke’s previous experience and current research interest cover the areas of maternal and child health, chronic and infectious diseases, and mental health. Methodologically, Demeke is a mixed-method researcher, experienced in using basic and advanced statistical approaches, designing epidemiological studies, and systematic reviews and meta-analyses. His intense research experience in various areas of public health has resulted in more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles with 176 Google Scholar citations (H-index= 8, i10-index=5). He is a Ph.D. candidate at Charles Darwin University, Menzies School of Health Research Institute.
