Research interests
Emily Bowden is an experienced nurse and midwife with extensive experience working with women from culturally and linguistically diverse populations, including Australian First Nations women from remote communities. She has worked in the Top End of the Northern Territory, predominantly with Australian First Nations women receiving maternal health services, for 8 years. Emily has worked in a number of NHMRC funded RCTs, and qualitative projects since joining Menzies School of Health Research in September 2020, where she commenced her PhD in 2021. She has a strong interest in respectful maternity care, and was instrumental in the development of alternative models of care options for First Nations women at Gove District Hospital.
