Emma is an evaluator and PhD candidate in the youth diabetes team of the Diabetes Across the Lifecourse Northern Australia Partnership
at Menzies School of Health Research. She has a Masters of Public Health and has been working for the Partnership for five years, based in
Mparntwe, Alice Springs. Emma has a particular interest in the social determinants of health and how these intersect with youth-onset
type 2 diabetes prevention and management, as well qualitative research methods and the use of culturally safe evaluation approaches.
Since joining the Partnership she has supported the use of participatory evaluation approaches to strengthen project outcomes for
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, families and communities. Prior to this, she worked in women's health in Victoria,
advocating to state and federal government about the impacts of the social determinants of health on women’s health outcomes.
