Research interests

Erica is a senior research fellow and lecturer in Environmental Science in the Faculty of Science & Technology specialising in aquatic ecology (i.e. freshwater lakes, wetlands, and rivers). Erica uses a combination of observational, experimental, isotopic and eDNA approaches to study invertebrate species interactions and biodiversity in a food web context to examine how these affect key ecosystem processes. She teaches units in Introductory Ecology and Aquatic Resources Management. Her current projects include a citizen science project looking at groundwater and invertebrates in groundwater as well as assessing surface water for wetland condition.
