Personal profile

Research interests

As a seasoned Registered Nurse and Lecturer with almost two decades of experience, I am thrilled to be the Course Coordinator for the Masters of Nursing Pre-registration Program at Charles Darwin University. With a passion for research, I specialise in studying the unique challenges faced by immigrant families with children with disabilities, their coping strategies, and resilience in their host country.

My work is particularly focused on Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, and I am interested in examining the intersection of their health concerns and host country policies. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience both overseas and in Australia, allowing me to bring a wealth of knowledge to my teaching and research.

As an educator, I am committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment that empowers students to engage critically with the material and equips them with the practical skills necessary to excel in the field of nursing. My research is grounded in a desire to drive change, and I am passionate about utilising my findings to advocate for policies that improve the health outcomes of vulnerable communities.

In my role as Course Coordinator, I am excited to have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated faculty members and students to shape the future of nursing education. Through our collaborative efforts, I am confident that we will continue to develop innovative approaches to teaching and learning, empowering our students to become leaders in the field of nursing.
