Farai Mbira is an experienced IT professional with over 35 years ofITleadership in in local government, Utilities, Insurance, Education, Vendor, Telecommunications and GIS industries. He holds degrees and certifications including MPhil (Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand), Master of Information management (Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand) and Post Graduate Diploma Management Studies from Nottingham Trent University UK.

Farai’s professional experience is in software development, business analysis, Project Management and Innovation & Service Improvement Management. He has contributed significantly to setting up IT departments, Project Management, ISO9001 certification and QA/Testing frameworks for several organisations including Colleges, Universities, Utilities (Electricity, Water, Telecommunications and software vendor and consulting organisations.

Farai’s research interests are in Cyber Security, Location Intelligence and Smart Locations. He hopes to significantly contribute to emergency management, the intelligence communities, especially in cyber space and emerging smart locations technologies.
