Research interests

Dr. Isabella Garti is a midwifery research fellow at the Molly Wardaguga Research Centre, Charles Darwin University. She has a clinical background in nursing and midwifery with over 15 years of midwifery practice, education, and research experience. Isabella has a keen interest in addressing health service disparities and improving the quality of midwifery care for women who develop pregnancy complications in poorly resourced settings. Isabella is passionate about researching pre-eclampsia management in LMICs, evidence-based midwifery, midwifery-led care, culturally safe maternity care, undergraduate midwifery education, and innovative continuing professional development approaches.
