Jaana Dielenberg works at the intersection of science, policy and communication to tackle Australia’s biodiversity crisis. Jaana has over 20 years’ experience in environmental management, research translation, policy engagement and science communication. As the Biodiversity Council’s Science Communication Director, she co-ordinates and elevates expertise from within Australian universities to influence government policies and public discourse. Her previous roles have focused on maximising impact from large-scale university-based research programs to policy and practice, this includes as Senior Manager of Communications and Engagement for the $72M National Environmental Science Program Threatened Species Recovery Hub, Knowledge Broker for the $30M National Environmental Research Program Northern Australia Hub (CDU hosted) and for Melbourne Water, and Business Analyst for the DFAT supported Pacific iClim project.  Before this, she spent 8 years in waterways planning and management roles. Jaana has a BA (Geography) and Master of Environment from The University of Melbourne.
