Research interests

Dr Jason Mills is a Senior Lecturer in Nursing with broad clinical and research expertise. A Fellow of the Australian College of Nursing and the Higher Education Academy, he has completed postgraduate training in Health Promoting Palliative Care, Mental Health Nursing, Medical Anthropology, Positive Psychology, and Compassion Science.

While his research to date has examined both workforce (PhD) and community capacity (Honours) in a public health context of palliative and end of life care, Jason’s current research interests include improving access to palliative care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and enhancing quality of life for people living with life-limiting illness in regional, rural and remote areas of Australia.

He is an Editor for Collegian: The Australian Journal of Nursing Practice, Scholarship and Research, and Editor-in-Chief for Progress in Palliative Care. He also serves on the Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Palliative Nursing, and Palliative Care and Social Practice.
