Research interests

Jianhua (Jane) Zhang is a lecturer in the Faulty of Arts and Society specialising in International Business and Management. She holds a PhD in international business from Charles Darwin University. She specialises in teaching management subjects. Her previous industry experience across multiple areas and active involvement with professional associations and business bodies (Australia & China) equipped her with knowledge of understanding on real business world. The corporate knowledge that she brought to her teaching was well appreciated by students. She demonstrates her capacity to help students understand the complex business concepts or a complicated management topic in a simple manner.

 

Jane has a particular interest in studying emerging market multinational enterprises (EMNEs), investigating challenges that their foreign subsidiaries encounter when operating in overseas markets. She presented her research at Australia and New Zealand International Business Academy (ANZIBA) 2019/2023, and Strategic Management Society (SMS) 2023. She has been a reviewer at the international conferences since year 2019, such as ANIZIBA and Academy of International Business (AIB, 2023/4). As an early career researcher, Jane is also the successful applicant of the AIB 2023 Junior Faculty Consortium, 6 July, Warsaw, Poland, Paper Workshop Development of Global Strategy Journal at SMS 43rd Annual Conference, Sep 30 – 3 Oct, Toronto, Canada, and ANZIBA 2024 Early Career Scholars Consortium, 7 Feb, Christchurch, New Zealand.

Her research interests lie in the areas of International Business, Management and Marketing. In particular, she examines:
