Research interests
Professor John Woinarski works in the Research Institute for the Environment and Livelihoods, specialising in conservation biology. He has authored about 10 books and 300 scientific articles and book chapters, and is a Deputy Director of the Threatened Species Recovery Hub of the National Environmental Science Program. Recognition for his work includes the Eureka Prize for Biodiversity Research, the NT Chief Minister’s Research and Innovation Award, the Serventy Medal (for lifetime contribution to Australian ornithology) and the Society for Conservation Biology’s Distinguished Service Award. He has been a member of many government policy and management committees. John is employed part-time and currently lives in Melbourne.
