populations. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Humanitarian and Community Studies from Charles Darwin University and a Master’s degree
in Social Work from Flinders University, Adelaide. With over a decade of experience in social work and community services, Johnpaul has
developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by marginalised groups, particularly those involved in the child protection system
and migrant support services. Currently serving as the Stakeholder Engagement Lead for the Family Violence Pilot Program at the
Australian Red Cross, Johnpaul is recognised for his strategic leadership and expertise in managing complex cases. His role involves
coordinating support for migrants impacted by family violence and financial hardship, ensuring they have access to essential services and
resources. His work is characterised by a collaborative approach, fostering partnerships with community organisations, government
agencies, and the private sector to address both local and national issues.
Johnpaul's career began in the Northern Territory, where he has spent nearly 18 years working with diverse communities, including
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. His extensive experience with Territory Families as a Senior Child Protection Practitioner
provided him with in-depth knowledge of statutory welfare services, child protection, and crisis intervention. This role honed his skills in
conducting holistic assessments, developing safety plans, and delivering effective case management services. In addition to his work in
child protection, Johnpaul has held various positions within the Australian Red Cross, focusing on migration support and community
development. As a Complex Caseworker and later as a Migration Support Program Officer, he provided critical assistance to asylum
seekers, refugees, and other migrants, helping them navigate the challenges of settling in Australia. His dedication to community service
extends to his work with youth, aged care, and disability support, where he has consistently demonstrated his ability to develop and
implement programs that meet the diverse needs of his clients.
Johnpaul's deep understanding of cultural diversity and his ability to communicate effectively across cultures underpin his success in
engaging with all stakeholders. His commitment to advocacy and best practice principles in social work is evident in his ongoing efforts to
