Personal profile

Research interests

Marine ecologist focussing on understanding and managing human-wildlife interactions, particularly with sharks and rays. My work spans fisheries science, threatened species conservation, wildlife tourism, and the ecological and social dimensions of the use and management of wildlife. I lead applied research projects on shark and ray bycatch mitigation, species movement ecology, and policy-relevant conservation strategies. I work closely with industry, government, and Indigenous partners to co-develop solutions that balance biodiversity conservation with sustainable use. I lead the Northern Shark and Ray Research Group, as part of CDU's Research Institute for the Environment and Livelihoods (RIEL).
