Research interests
Khwaja Imran Mohammed is currently a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidate specialising in Application Security, with his research centred on the topic of "Implementing DevSecOps and Securing Applications in the Banking & Financial Services Industry." His work draws on methodologies including DevSecOps (Shift Left), Zero Trust, and AI/ML for AppSec, under the supervision of Professor Bharanidharan Shanmugam.
Academically, Imran holds a Master of Information Technology from Sikkim Manipal University, India, and a Bachelor of Computer Science & Mathematics from Osmania University, India. He brings more than two decades of experience as a Technology and Engineering Leader, with deep expertise spanning IT Infrastructure Management, Midrange Systems, Databases, Security, Cloud, DevOps/DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering, IT Operations and Production Support, and Project Management. He currently serves as Head of Cloud Services at Rest Super in Sydney. Prior to this, he has held roles across a diverse range of organisations, including National Australia Bank, LexisNexis, Fairfield City Council, Gazzaz (Saudi Arabia), Wells Fargo Bank (USA), Genpact, and General Electric.
A people-first leader, Imran is known for his engaging and authentic approach to technology and engineering. He has a passion for demystifying complexity and firmly believes in the transformative power of technology to reshape the way we work and perceive the world around us.
