Research interests

Professor Kishor Sharma is a trade and development economist with over three decades of experience in the Asia-Pacific region. He has been an academic in Australia since July 1992. Prior to his academic appointment, Kishor was a Project Economist under the UNV program of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Western Samoa for four years. Kishor has been a consultant to the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to assist governments in Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic and Nepal in developing their trade and industrial policies. Kishor was awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Leadership Excellence at Charles Sturt University in 2012. He was also awarded the Faculty of Business Research Excellence Awards at Charles Sturt University in 2002 & 2003. Kishor has attracted research grants from AusAID and RDA-Riverina.
