Lala Bumela Sudimantara is a PhD Candidate at College of Education. His PhD thesis falls into the area of development of learners’ agency in Academic Writing courses in an English Language Teacher Education (ELTE) in Indonesia by creating a technologically-enhanced language learning (TELL) support system. In this research project, he engineers intonation as the basis for the development of speech perception, reorganisation and production of academic writing skills; introduces Reading for Emotion as a new alternative in a learner-centered textual development; and inaugurates the neurological principles of aesthetics as the basis for a critical self-assessment of academic text creation. His research lays out the foundation of a brain-compatible language & literacy learning mechanism in the 21st century in Indonesian context.
