Research interests

Dr Mary Morris is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology specialising in Trauma, Resilience and Mindfulness. She is interested in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills training and examining the concept of entitlement and its impact on various aspects of human behaviour and psychological wellbeing. Recently, she has supervised two PhDs focusing on gambling behaviour, post-traumatic stress disorder and is currently supervising a PhD project focusing on ACT skills training as part of an integrated approach to mental health in older chronic pain patients. Mary is a previous winner of the Vice Chancellors Award for Excellence in Teaching and has developed innovative curriculum across numerous national accredited degree programs. Dr Morris has supervised in excess of 80 Honours theses and 8 post graduate theses and has published in a diverse range of journals. When not at work, Mary can be found on the golf course, in the Qantas Club or playing with her grandchildren.
