Research interests

Matt has spent most of his time in the past 20 years working with Aboriginal people on land, research and livelihood issues. Matt’s background is in resource management training with Indigenous Rangers and research into Indigenous community engagement. At CDU he undertook strategic research towards developing evidence based best practice, with a focus on community engagement and social inclusion research, including research into the effectiveness of Territory Housing Reference Groups as an instrument of governance in remote NT communities. He is interested in how people of different cultures find ways to work together productively, something he is pursuing through his PhD research.
