Research interests
Merin Nielsen has a BSc and a BA from The University of Queensland, with majors in philosophy, mathematics and physics. Since moving to Darwin at the end of 2013, he has enjoyed working both casually and fulltime as an internal lecturer for several units among CDU’s Common Units and Tertiary Enabling Programs in the College of Education, and the College of Engineering, IT & Environment. Through CDU, Merin has meanwhile completed a Graduate Certificate in University Teaching and Learning. His PhD research interest resides in the Philosophy of Cognition, particularly regarding the nature of thought in terms of affect and associated readiness to act.
