Dr Atiq Tariq earned a funded PhD in 2011 from world’s second top ranked university in the field of Civil Engineering university “TU Delft, the Netherlands”. He was awarded as the outstanding teacher in the College of Science and Engineering, Victoria University, Melbourne year 2021. He has introduced research at the undergraduate level for the first time in Australia and has already produced eight research papers at Q1/Q2 level. He worked as Head of Department at the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology and the Capital University of Science and Technology. More than 30 recognized Q1/Q2 journal papers, mostly as Lead Author or as a Corresponding Author. More than 80% papers in Q1 including best paper/featured paper/editor choice paper awards. Invited Editor to five Q1 journals’ Special Issues. Leading Editor of two Special Issues. About 15 conference papers, seven keynote-speaker lectures, and around 30 projects carried out at various stages with distinct roles. His interest areas are watershed management, flood risk management, smart cities, infrastructure, hydropolitics, water footprint, sustainable energies, AI, and urban planning.
