Research interests
Mr Para Jansuwan is a PhD candidate in the Northern Institute, the College of Indigenous Futures, Arts and Society. His research interests are policy and programme impact evaluation, agricultural and development economics, and quantitative methods. His current PhD project is “Understanding succession plans and farm aspirations of ageing and young farmers in Prachin Buri province, Thailand” which aims to understand older farmers’ adaptation to population structural change in the agricultural sector, planning for farm transfer of older farmers, factors influencing young people to return to farming, and effectiveness of a programme incentivizing young people to stay in farming. Para holds Master of Economics from Kasetsart University, Thailand and Master of Science in Development Evaluation and Management from University of Antwerp, Belgium.
