Research interests

Penelope (Penny) Godwin is a joint CDU- ANU PhD candidate in the Research Institute for the Environment and Livelihoods (RIEL) under the supervision of Penny Wurm and Clem Duvert, and the Fenner School of Environment and Society under supervision of Sara Beavis and at partner university, Universitas Nusa Cendana in Kupang, Indonesia, Dr. Jakobis Johanis Messakh.. Her research aims to understand the influence of landcover and other environmental controls on groundwater yields in Sumba, Indonesia. Prior to her PhD research, Penny worked in state and federal government in technical and policy roles relating to natural resource management. She holds a Masters degree in Integrated Water Management from the University of Queensland and a Science degree from the Australian National University.
