Research interests
Sam is a Research Assistant in the Northern Shark Ecology Group specialising in elasmobranch conservation ecology. His current research is focussed on implementing bycatch mitigation strategies in northern Australia's commercial gillnet fishery. His interests include molecular ecology, systematics, and behavioural ecology.
Sam also works on a variety of projects investigating the systematics and biogeography of Australian freshwater fishes and developing user friendly R-based implementations of genomic anlayses within the DartRverse.
