Research interests

I am a research-focused lecturer in psychology currently working at Charles Darwin University, NT, Australia. I completed my PhD in Trauma and Interpersonal Relationships at Queensland University of Technology used a salutogenic approach to exploring relationship dynamics of refugee couples in Australia.

I have years of experience in clinical work, research, teaching, and coordinating psychology units at Australian and overseas university settings. I have also been involved in tutoring Indigenous Australian students through the Oodgeroo Keystones of Success Program at QUT.

My main research interests are trauma, posttraumatic growth, resilience, intimate relationships, alcohol and other drugs, spiritual beliefs, and their impacts on people's lived experiences. I am also interested in health and therapeutic interventions and cross-cultural studies using qualitative and mixed-method approaches to investigate the wellbeing of individuals, couples, and families.
