Research interests
Dr. Shawgat S. Kutubi is an industry-focused university lecturer and researcher with over twelve years of experience. She is currently the coordinator of the Bachelor of Accounting course at Charles Darwin University. Her research interests are in the areas of corporate governance, financial reporting, and First Nations businesses in Australia. She has published in leading journals and presented papers at several international conferences. She is currently supervising a Ph.D. student and a Master’s by Research student. A research-active academic, she has been successful in receiving several internal and external research grants as well as research and teaching awards. Shawgat is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and is currently a Councillor with the CPA Divisional Council for the Northern Territory. Shawgat is also a valued appointment council (AC) member at CPA Australia where she is responsible for appointing CPA Australia board members. As a member of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ), she frequently attends the AFAANZ conferences with her research presentations in the field of accounting and finance.
Shawgat is available for Ph.D. and Master's by Research supervision and industry project consultation.
