Research interests

Sidra Munawar is a dedicated Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) student at the Faculty of Art and Society. My primary research focus is within the
Marketing discipline, where I conduct an in-depth study under the guidance of her principal supervisor, Dr. Muhammad Saleem from the
School of Business at the University of Wollongong, and associate supervisor, Steven Greenland, Dean of Graduate Studies at Charles
Darwin University. My passion for sustainable development has driven me to explore critical aspects of consumer behaviour in the
hospitality industry. My PhD research, "Determinants of Hotel Guests' Sustainable Behaviours: Evidence from an Emerging Economy,"
aims to provide valuable insights into encouraging sustainability practices among hotel guests.
Before commencing my doctoral studies, I gained substantial experience as a Research Associate, contributing to various academic
projects. I have successfully published research articles in multiple disciplines, including sustainability, online learning, human resource
management, entrepreneurship, etc. I aspire to understand how guests' choices of a hotel's market and non-market (environmental)
attributes and their characteristics influence their engagement in sustainable practices during their stay. By examining these factors, I aim
to provide insights that can help hotels design effective strategies to promote sustainability and encourage guests' sustainable behaviour.
