Research interests
I am Sintayehu Asnakew Alemayehu, a PhD student at the Menzies School of Health Research, Charles Darwin University, Australia. I obtained my BSc degree in Nursing and MSc degree in Integrated Clinical and Community Mental Health from the University of Gondar. I also received a Higher Diploma License in Professional Teacher Education from Debre Tabor University. I have over seven years of academic, research and clinical experience at Debre Tabor University. I also served as the head of the Department of Psychiatry for more than two years. My research interests encompass child, adolescent and maternal mental health conditions and service provision, particularly among those experiencing life adversities. I have authored and co-authored in various mental health-related research studies, utilising both quantitative and qualitative methods, and have published in reputable international journals.
I have skills in utilising analytical software, including Stata, Epi-Info, Epidata, SPSS, and EndNote. These experiences equip me to contextualise and interpret data related to my research with depth and rigour. Thus, my PhD studies focus on public mental health service use by children and adolescents in the Northern Territory: A data linkage study to identify gaps and inform service delivery.
