Research interests

I was born in Arba Minch, Ethiopia, in August 1982. Arba Minch is 505 km south to the capital Addis.
An associate professor of internal medicine at Arba Minch University (AMU) since 2016. I completed medical school in 2006 and graduated
as a medical doctor. I completed the internal medicine specialty program in 2011 at Jimma University.
Worked as a senior internist in Arba Minch General Hospital, working as a clinician and also teaching medical students from Arba Minch
University (AMU) as a part-time instructor from 2011 to 2015.
Participated as a research physician in a DNDi lead Visceral leishmaniasis clinical trial from 2012 to 2015.
Participated as co-investigator and country PI in a Menzies School of Health research-sponsored malaria clinical trials from 2016 until now.
So far, four trials have been completed, and two have been published. Also engaged in collaborative research on cutaneous and Visceral
leishmaniasis with the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerpen, Belgium.
In addition to the academic, clinical, and research activities, I have been the Dean and CED of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences,
AMU, for seven solid years.
Generally, I am working as a clinician, researcher, and academician.
