Research interests

Dr Howcroft is a hydrogeologist specialising in the use and application of aqueous geochemistry and environmental water tracers to better understand hydrogeologic systems. Prior to joining CDU, Dr Howcroft held a postdoc position at Deakin University, where he led a multi-year environmental monitoring program of soil gas and groundwater at a trial carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) site in western Victoria. Originally from the United States, Dr Howcroft has been living in Australia for the past 15 years and will be working with Dr Dylan Irvine in the Hydrology and Groundwater Science research team.
