This proposal involves a short-term study in the Philippines at De La Salle University (DLSU) for the Bachelor of Accounting students at Charles Darwin University (CDU). The program comprises 14 days of intensive study in Finance System and Poverty Alleviation in the Philippines taught by the College of Business at DLSU. Students will be required to attend lectures and seminars, which will be taught in English. Assessments will involve an oral presentation and a research assignment. Students will also visit several banking and finance related institutions and cultural sites that will enhance their understanding of finance system and poverty alleviation programs in the Philippines. It is proposed that 10 students participate in the program. They will be supervised by local and CDU academic staff members, engage with university administrators and local students, and be immersed in the language and culture of the Philippines. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded 10 credit points towards their CDU Bachelor of Accounting degree.
