Project Details
Description
SimSchool is an online user-self-regulated behavior management simulation software designed specifically for Higher Education pre-service teachers as well as in-service teachers. SimSchool simulation is based on advanced algorithms and Artificial Emotional Intelligence.
The research project is to test the implementation and feasibility of using SimSchool with Distance Education pre-service teachers, and potentially with Indigenous Torres Strait Islanders teachers located in the Northern Territory.
The objectives are to evaluate the affordances and constraints of SimSchool applicability in Northern Territory context, the acceptance by distance learners of SimSchool simulation to assist their understanding of classroom management, and their unidentified performance with SimSchool. The outcome and feedback will inform the applicability of integrating SimSchool as part of pre-service teacher training programs as well as leading to a possible collaboration between SimSchool and Indigenous teachers to tweak the software for a more inclusive Community school context.
