Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Histories and Cultures: A Cross Curriculum Priority?

Project: HDR ProjectPhD

Project Details

Description

Since the implementation of the Australian National Curriculum in 2008, there has been an emphasis on ‘closing the gap’ between Indigenous and non-Indigenous students’ education outcomes. In 2022, the curriculum was reviewed laying even more stress on reconciliation and strengthening relationships between Australian First Nations Peoples and the wider Australian community. This research aims to gather insights into the current application of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Histories and Cultures Cross Curriculum Priority (CCP) and may be helpful in gathering data regarding what’s working, what are some hurdles and what can be done for the seamless embedding of Indigenous CCP in classrooms.
