    Description

This study aims to assess the impact of the perineal care bundle on maternal and clinical outcomes (particularly perineal injury), women's birth experiences and midwifery practice. A multi-methhods study, it incorporates an interrupted time series comparing routinely collected clinical outcomes data from a Women’s Health Australasia bundle site and another hospital that did not implement the bundle. In-depth semi-structured interviews with women and midwives will be conducted. By understanding the impact of the Perineal Care Bundle in practice, this study may help health services improve the care they offer to all women in the future.
