Description
This project will be the first of its kind to engage and explore cultural connections and knowledges between Indigenous People from northern Australia and southern India. The Australian group (12-14 participants) from the Kimberley (WA) and Arnhem Land (NT) will travel to Thekkady (Periyar Reserve), Kerala and Biligiri Hills (Karnataka) to meet with local tribes, and likewise, the Indian team (12-14) will travel to Australia. During the tour, the groups will exchange cultural knowledge
via holding ceremonies, rituals, and tribal dances and workshops to discuss the importance of their cultural practices in managing forests, people's wellbeing and inter generational knowledge exchange.
