Project Details

Description

This PhD research project is conducted in the Great Serengeti Ecosystem (GSE). There are five wildlife managing institutions with different management frameworks. These wildlife managing institutions in Serengeti differ in terms of management objectives, and benefit sharing schemes for the local communities. Indigenous people and others living in proximity to those conservation areas in GSE have different cultures and livelihood strategies which are associated with their respective ethnic traditional background. Therefore, loss to wildlife and conservation benefits provided to local people might be viewed differently which is the topic of research for this project.
