Project Details

Description

Competing approaches to taxonomy cause confusion and inefficiencies among many users of the science. The primary question we are asking is whether a global taxonomic governance regime can be developed though discussion among taxonomists and users that provides a legitimacy, consistency and stability to users while continuing to foster innovation in taxonomic science itself. Secondly what role can the IUBS play through its central role in the global governance of science.
