Hollows, termites and long-term fire regimes in Top End tropical savannas

Project: HDR ProjectPhD

Project Details

Description

Ellen's PhD research investigates the effects of fire on termites and tree hollow abundance in the landscape. To explore these themes, Ellen has used LiDAR to assess differences in vegetation structure, drones to visually survey for external tree hollows, and sonic tomography to quantify internal tree hollowing. Her research interests include ecology and the novel applications of technology for ecological surveys.
