    Description

    The purpose of this project is to develop, promote and strengthen understanding and engagement between Australia and China, including with business and community stakeholders, in support of Australia’s national interests, including by:
    •Promoting connections and practical cooperation
    •Building understanding and exchange
    •Showcasing Australian excellence
    •Engaging Australia’s diverse communities

    The project is designed as a 24-month Cultural Immersion Program for Chinese international students in the Northern Territory. During the program, students will have opportunities to explore diverse cultural and natural landscapes in Darwin, Katherine, Alice Springs, and Tennant Creek. Participating students will extend their study experience through interactive workshops focused on cultural exchange, networking and learning focused on Australian First Nations cultures and contemporary multiculturalism. A conference on intercultural exchange will happen in 2023.

    The Grant is being provided as part of the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations 2021-22 Competitive Grants Program.
