Project Details

Description

The Northern Territory Government (NTG) developed a whole of government agenda, Safe, Thriving and Connected: Generational Change for Children and Families (STC), to support children, young people and families experiencing vulnerability. The STC Reform Agenda was developed in response to the recommendations of the Royal Commission into the Protection and Detention of Children in the Northern Territory (RCPDCNT).

The Menzies School of Health Research has been commissioned to conduct the Stage 1 evaluation, which will examine the immediate implementation and preliminary impacts of the reforms, namely an:
1. Evaluation of the implementation of the recommendations of the RCPDCNT
2. Examination of the initial outcomes of the reform program
3. Identification of data sets known and needed for the Stage 2 evaluation
The project is being undertaken Professor Gary Robinson, Professor Steve Guthridge, Dr Elizabeth Adamson and Dr Steven Roche at the Centre for Child Development and Education (CCDE). The evaluation is being funded by the NTG, and being coordinated by the Reform Management Office (RMO).
