Project Details
Description
My research explores the development, implementation and evaluation of echocardiographic screening for rheumatic heart disease (RHD) during pregnancy in high-risk women in the Northern Territory (NT). This involves a prospective, pragmatic intervention study evaluating the training for and use of focused, limited cardiac ultrasound performed by obstetric healthcare staff to identify RHD during routine antenatal care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.
