Use of parks and suburban gardens by Darwin’s birds- Rapid Creek

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

One of the features of Darwin that gives people greatest pleasure and contributes greatly to the well-being of Darwin residents is the presence of an abundant community of native bird species. We have many species that occur commonly in Darwin that have become rare or extinct in other Australian cities. However, the abundance of birds is probably because of the presence of large areas of vegetation both in private gardens and public parks – but both are required. The aim of our project is to show to what extent this is true.
